Montana Solar Estimate

Solar in Montana, utility by utility

What solar saves in Montana depends on who sends your electric bill. Each page below shows that utility’s verified 2026 residential rate, fixed charge, demand charge and net-metering rules, what they mean for a solar system, and a worked example, with every figure linked to the utility’s own document.

How these pages are kept honest

Every rate was read from the utility’s own schedule or net-metering policy and is linked on its page with the schedule’s effective date and the date we checked it (last full review November 1, 2026). Three utilities publish no schedule online and are marked unverified rather than guessed quietly. Rates are re-checked each spring, when most Montana co-ops reprice. The estimator uses exactly these figures; see the methodology. Looking by place instead? Solar by city.
